Pete specialises in aerials for feature films, commercials and UHD television production. He began focussing on aerials following a long stint on the ground – initially shooting factual programming for BBC, Nat Geo, Discovery et al, followed by many of years of commercial work. Pete is a part owner of a Shotover K1 and F1 aerial gimbals, two of the most advanced aerial camera platforms in the world today.
The revolutionary 6-axis Shotover K1 provides film makers and broadcasters with a never before seen combination of performance and flexibility. Best of all, the K1 supports near any camera system – ARRI Alexa, Sony F65, Epic/Dragon, Sony F5/5, Canon C500, Phantom Flex. 3D, six camera arrays with full metadata recoding and dual camera (with different lens angles) are also supported.
A little more compact than it’s big ‘brother’ the Shotover F1 is more economical to ship and can easily travel on commercial flights. Also a 6-axis gyro stabilized platform, the F1 delivers unshakable stability and accommodates a range of cameras and lenses, including the ARRI Alexa M, RED Epic/Dragon, Sony F5/55 and Canon C500. The F1 supports lenses with focal lengths from 12(ish)mm to 1000mm+
